Our son suffered two concussions… LearningRx Akron-Bath, OH Review

Our son suffered two severe concussions by fifth grade. The first in third grade at a soccer game and the second in fifth grade on the playground at Heartland Christian School. By sixth grade (age 12) my child began to struggle academically. Teachers demeaned, belittled, or accused him of being disruptive as he struggled to understand what was being taught. Children with cognitive damage due to multiple concussions are especially vulnerable to this kind of treatment and unfortunately, continue to hear accusations that they are lazy and unmotivated or that they should pay closer attention. Afton experienced this treatment to the point where he started to believe these labels. Luckily, we found Learning RX in Akron (Trainer Andrew is the best) & left HCS. Today, as a freshman at Beaver Local he enjoys school, is striving with a 3.8 GPA, and has had his self esteem restored. I feel strongly about the vital importance of correct post concussion treatment in and out of school. Craig...

” No matter your age or skill set I strongly recommend LearningRX.”

I went to LearningRX as a college student after seeing multiple successes within my family. I was struggling bad as a science major trying to keep up with the workload. I was a little uneasy about going the route of my younger cousins with learningRX because I was older and thought I should be able to handle the workload I am getting. I learned quickly no matter what your skill level is or what your weak points are LearningRX is so incredibly patient and caters to what you need help with the most. I did LearningRX for a whole summer and my GPA in college raised almost an entire point from the semester before I did LearningRX. The brain skills that LearningRX taught me allowed me to approach school in a whole different way. I actually started to comprehend what I was learning instead of memorizing for 48 hours to pass a test. No matter your age or skill set I strongly recommend...

“I found that my IQ jumped up almost 30 points”

I graduated from FTHS in 2015, with a 3.9 GPA, I assumed I was well prepared for college, but my second day, I had my first chemistry class. I was completely overwhelmed by the content and realized that my skills were inadequate. I was horrified thinking about continuing college without the proper knowledge and techniques; and failing. I was panicking beyond belief and quickly became so disheartened that I was ready to give up my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. It was then that I was referred to LearningRx by my Nana. Before I began LearningRx, I must admit, I was a little apprehensive. I’ve been to countless tutor-like help programs and all fell short of my expectations. When I started, however, I was excited and incredibly surprised about how fun the program was and how I was beginning to see, even small improvements within the first few sessions. I was overjoyed because in college there were concepts that I finally understood, even when they seemed impossible during high school. Subjects that I struggled with in high school, like chemistry, became like a breeze. I cannot even begin to describe how LearningRx and my trainer, Alanna, changed my life. After my sessions at LearningRx, I was offered a Peer Tutor position by the head of the tutoring department at my University because of my drastic improvements. I found that doing daily tasks are simple and well organized. I got a promotion at work because of how well I was doing. Even simple things like my reflexes drastically improved because my attention is now more focused. I also found that my IQ jumped up almost 30 points. Best of all, I am now more confident in my abilities, and in myself. I have self-confidence like I never have before and thanks to LearningRx I can’t wait to see what life has in store for me. I am currently saving up my money right now so I can start another...
