It was worth the distance

Our son is eight years old and in the third grade. He qualified for the Gifted and Talented program when he was in Kindergarten and has always made good grades. We started noticing he was lacking skills in reading toward the end of second grade and when he started third grade, we knew he needed help. I am the district librarian and his grandmother is the reading intervention teacher for his school. We tried everything we knew to do, but didn’t seem to be getting anywhere. We finally decided to get outside help. I had a friend that recommended LearningRx, so I started checking into it. The only concern that we had was the distance – 1 hour and 40 minutes away from us! But, once we had him tested and saw where they could help, we got after it. Since we lived so far away, we did the direct training which means I had to sit in on the lessons with him. We only came once a week and did lots of homework. he wasn’t excited about coming at first, but now he loves it. I can’t say enough about his trainer. She has worked so hard with him and is so caring!!

My son has improved so much! He loves reading and is more confident now. He has grown in so many areas other than reading, too!! We are amazed at some of the skills he has learned!

We are so thankful for LearningRx – the trainer, Donesa, and the whole staff. We feel blessed to have had this experience. As soon as we started coming, we told our son that we were getting him ready for college!! These skills that he has learned will be with him from now on!! He has a great foundation and can be successful at whatever he puts his mind to!!
