LearningRx Has Been a Life-Saver

LearningRx has been a lifesaver for both our daughter  and our family. This program was recommended by her first grade teacher. Our daughter was struggling in several areas including confident, long-term memory, and attentiveness, just to name a few. Our experience has been indescribable. Our daughter’s trainer has been a blessing to her. She is patient with her but yet pushes her to her full potential. On days our daughter tends to feel discouraged, our trainer knows the right things to do or say to build her confidence level back up. She truly cares about our daughter and her success. She has found ways to help our daughter by relating her assignments to things relevant in her life. It takes a special teacher to learn about a child so they can help them to the best of their ability. Our daughter has shown many improvements since participating at LearningRx. She was able to memorize her piano recital piece without hesitation. She won 3rd place for an art piece in art class. She improved tremendously in softball and was asked to be on the competitive swim team for her improvement in swim lessons. Her first grade teacher said she improved in reading, word recognition, and memorization. Our daughter used to need a lot of assistance during homework and now dos it mostly all on her own. She is taking multi-step directions a lot better and can now multi-task. I am very pleased with the results we have seen and look forward to seeing our daughter’s success in years to...

Learning RX and ADHD

As the parent of two children diagnosed with ADHD, it was difficult to watch as they slowly fell further and further behind their peers in both academic and social development. It became evident that they would require additional instruction, skills, and training to overcome their learning difficulties and catch up to their peers. Homework meant to take twenty minutes often took two hours and the same concepts had to be re-taught night after night. Assignments were often forgotten, homework was lost, work was sloppy, and frustrations were very high. We considered the services of a tutor, but realized their inability to retain information would make that a waste of everyone’s time. We began to explore various training, counseling, and instructional programs. The concept of identifying the areas of weakness of an individual’s brain and providing training to strengthen those areas seems to be the logical first step in providing our children with the help they needed. After researching the options, we decided to try the Learning RX program. Our children were tested, and based on the test results, enrolled in two different programs. Although we have had ongoing issues with both children regarding their dedication to putting in their time on the Max software, and life sometimes makes it difficult to get in all the training hours at home in addition to homework, chores, and “life”, the program has seemed to provide some benefits in their ability to focus and the time required to complete assignments. Both children enrolled in new schools this year, and social issues aside, seem to be making some progress in their academic areas. Time will tell if they will be able to use the increased cognitive skills and better long and short term memory to continue to improve, but we feel the next step is to obtain tutoring in specific areas and give them a chance to apply the Learning RX gains to the benefit of their academic and social...

I strongly recommend that parents look at both sides, and check the references and results of the individual centers

I would like to submit another perspective as a parent whose kids went through Learning Rx. I am a pediatric occupational therapist who was at a loss when attempting to figure out how to help my own kids. I was initially skeptical of the claims of LearningRx, but I found that the profound success stories outweigh the few complaints by far. Our experience was extremely positive for both children. Both were doing marginally well in school (one child struggled to read, the other child struggled across the board, but is a good reader) and are both currently excelling in an advanced curriculum with ease and tremendous confidence. I strongly recommend that parents look at both sides, and check the references and results of the individual centers. This program worked beyond our expectations and I know many families who have had the same experience with LearningRx. Don’t discount the value of cognitive training and a whole program because of a relative few disgruntled people. LearningRx was life changing for our...
