Our LearningRx Story

We are privileged to be the parents of a bright, spirited 2nd grader with an excellent memory and interest in science, reading, and math. However, since Kindergarten, he has struggled with selected aspects of his early education. He has faced enormous hurdles in regard to reading comprehension and memorization. He has been clearly frustrated by this, and I know he has sensed his parents’ frustration and concern as well. We have spent countless hours helping him at night, but typically the yield of our efforts was nothing but fatigue and frustration for our entire family. We reached a point where we realized he was going to require assistance beyond what we could provide on our own. We had gotten to the point that it was taking us collectively more than 2 hours every night to complete what should have only been 20 minutes of homework. He had a series of behavioral issues at both school and at home that we think was, in part, tied to this frustration. Of course, when you’re a parent that decides to pursue professional assistance, choosing the right guidance can feel like yet another insurmountable hurdle. There are countless tutoring options available, all of which claim to be the best choice. We feel fortunate to have found LearningRx. We were in the market for more traditional tutoring, assumed LearningRx would provide these services, and paid a visit to inquire about rates. It became immediately clear that tutoring is not really the service that’s provided. They have a system of formally isolating the weakness in a child’s cognitive development, and they then tailor a training program that assists the child in conquering these weaknesses. Their mission, as I see it, is not to fix all of the child’s problems over a finite period, but rather equip them with the permanent toolbox that they’ll need to face their future educational challenges. We saw changes in both our son’s level of enthusiasm and concentration within about the first week. Now that we near the end of our 4th month, it’s almost like a different child that goes to his daily sessions with his instructor. We started his program at the beginning of summer break. As summer drew to a close, and third grade approached, he asked us nightly how close he was to starting school again. He was so excited to tackle it (definitely not the way 2nd grade went)! We are confident that our child is a better learner now that he has gone thought the LearningRx program. I’d like to give a special thanks to our child’s instructor. She made the process fun for our son, but also inspired and challenged...

I Am Very Thankful for What You Do

In November 2012, I began researching programs that would assist my son in his performance at school. After several calls with friends and searches on the internet, I began finding a lot of good information about LearningRx. My first conversation with the company made me feel like I had found the solution to my concerns. Sarah was extremely knowledgeable and expressed a genuine concern for my son. She explained the program in detail and began making arrangements for his assessment. After a review of the results, we were introduced to our trainer. She took my son under her wing and began a slow methodical process of teaching him how to think through each muddle in the program. The first two weeks were tough, as my son resisted the training. Then his trainer made some adjustments, found better ways to relate to him, and the friendship bond was established. My son began to look forward to the work and increased his efforts. After two months, I began to notice my son was putting forth more effort in his school work. Grades began to improve and study habits improved as well. As we progressed through the program, his confidence in his own abilities began to improve. He was able to concentrate for longer periods and solve many of the school tasks on his own. The entire staff also had involvement. When his trainer had personal commitments, subs were offered to keep his program on time. I am very thankful for what you do. Everyone is courteous and understanding, as well as dedicated to the improvement of each student. I look forward to working with you...

LearningRx For High School

I came to Learning Rx for help at the end of my sophomore year of high school because I bombed my Algebra final. Math is not my thing; algebra is especially hard for me. Even though I always do my homework and studied for the final; I got confused and made mistakes. My mom heard about LearningRx on a Channel 4 television show and thought it might help me.  I wasn’t convinced it would be any different than most of the other educational things I have done. My mom said the LearningRx program gives you the skills to learn and remember new information more effectively. I started LearningRx in the summer of 2010 and tried to continue during my junior year. That didn’t work out. My junior year was more difficult than previous years. I didn’t have enough time to get all my homework done, study and go to LearningRx. Early in 2011, my mom and I decided I would finish LearningRx in the summer. The beginning of June I went 2 hours a day from Monday through Thursday. I completed the last 57 hours of training at LearningRx August 3, 2011. I have been surprised by the things I have been able to accomplish at LearningRx. I‘m hoping these new skills will pay off in my senior year of high school. I would like to thank my trainers for their time and effort to help me improve my cognitive...

Our Daughter Always Had Difficulty Paying Attention

Our 8 year old daughter has always been very active and had difficulty paying attention and concentrating. Since the beginning of the school year and while attending LearningRx, her attention span has improved. She has had fewer notes from her teacher advising that she has not been able to stay in her seat. Her teacher has reported that she has noticed a difference since the beginning of the school year. Thanks to her trainer, for being an excellent trainer, who kept her on task. My daughter has already indicated that she is going to miss you.

After Sylvan Didn’t Help…

Our daughter was having a hard time with school work. She seemed to have a hard time concentrating, keeping her mind on her work at school and home, and her grades were showing it. We put her in Sylvan which didn’t help at all (for 2 years). We heard about LearningRx, and decided to try it. Things began to come easier for our daughter. Her concentration was better, and her grades have done remarkably better. She seems to be a happier person, with more self confidence. Her LearningRx trainer has been great with her also. We are very pleased with all the progress our daughter has made during...
